It’s finally here! I’ve been contemplating the idea of starting a blog to help students in their academic career, who strive to complete their degree/or other qualification and graduate! 🙂

I’m Nick and I’m a 20-something guy from North West England in the UK. If you want to know more about me then please visit the about page on road2graduation.com.

Who’s the blog for?

I’ll be posting 3 or 4 posts per week on advice, tips, trick and information that are sure to get you through your graduation. There may be an interesting topic in the news, or something specific that you want me to write about – if there is then let me know – all of which will be from an undergraduate/graduate student point of view. It doesn’t matter whether you’re in the first year of your diploma at college, an international student from China studying for a Master’s degree, or a mum (or mom) researching for your PhD, part-time, at your local University or College – this blog is for the experienced and the novice student, no matter what country you are studying in or what nationality you are.

What subjects will you cover?

Anything and everything, so to speak. My background is through social sciences, Management, Marketing, Hospitality etc. So, I will be taking a view of all the information I come across and so will post from the above perspective; I won’t be writing about the nucleus of bacteria and how that will affect your course (or maybe a will), but I want to cover more influential subjects, such as what to do if you have a dispute in your dorm, or how do you settle into your first week on campus, to what tips can help you produce a fantastic presentation. The posts will be simple and to the point, but will hopefully offer some extra resources if you want to learn more.

How will I get the Information?

You can do a number of things to access this blog and its information. Visiting the blog on a weekly or bi-weekly basis you will be able to review what has been posted and commented on during the past week. You can sign-up for an RSS feed of the road2graduation.com blog, through your favourite reader, or by using XML (XML version will show up when you load up IE or Firefox as a bookmarked blog).

Over the next few months I am aiming to allow people to request a weekly email of updates, reading a summary in the email and click through to a story they’re interested in.

What else will make you different?

An Articles and Resources section that will supply you with a mass of information to get you through your graduate years. Postcasts, video posts and interviews with people on different subjects. Hopefully there will be some controversial and opinionated areas on which I will blog. Finally, I will be inviting some guest posts from bloggers around the world to pass on their information to you; these will be similar people like me who want to create a better sense of the world of graduating and have the passion to help you through those trying and most enjoyable years.

So, call back soon and enjoy reading. Remember, if you have an opinion or view of the post I have written about, then leave a comment and I’ll try to answer it.
